A friend of mine killed himself last week over a divorce. Another one did a few years ago. Actually, now that I think about it there are quite a few guys I know that have taken their own life over a woman. Four off the top of my head. Oldest was 54 youngest was 19. Sad.
This is a brilliant article. It summarizes some of my discussions with my wife. We have a boy and a girl and my wife just doesn't understand certain things about boys/men in general. My wife doesn't understand the repercussions of men overwriting that biolgical need because before boys/men overwrite that bioligical need to procreate, they overwrite other things such as being protector/provider, being your emotional support, the ability to empathize with women. So many of the things women say they want are overwritten and the biological need is the last thing to go. Societies will continue to degrade as men continue to overwrite that biological need.
Very good article. Sometimes in the RP space I just don't see any recognition whatsoever of the importance and inevitability of children. Children might not completely change the dynamics of game, frame, dread and all that, but the GOAL of life in the face of children becomes no mere elective. Consider *grandchildren* as well. Then it really gets serious. A divorce when grandchildren are in the picture (or even just in the mind) means that the divorce will have ramifications for generations to come. Generations. Factor in *several* divorces and a whole dysfunctional lineage is the result--a compounding of the human misery already present in the world--and YOU were its ancestor. Yes, it is the laws, I know that. Still, do not people see the real possibility of extinction in all this. Well, that's enough. You make all this clear. One last point. Cannot people see the existential urgency of the concerns of that most hated and pilloried of people: The TradCon?
